Responsibilities

The Solution Engineer works closely with our sales engineers and plays a key role in identifying our customers' testing challenges early on and finding the optimal solution for their measurement applications. Your responsibilities include technical pre- and post-sales support, sales presentations at customers, marketing events, and conducting customer training.

Typical customer requirements include state-of-the-art solutions for a wide range of signal analysis and test applications for electronic components.

Customers include major customers in the wireless and communications industry, as well as universities, medium-sized companies, and start-ups. The position is based at the Keysight Technologies office in Boeblingen or Munich, Germany.

The position requires international collaboration with colleagues worldwide and our factories. You will serve as the technical interface between customers and Keysight product development.

A comprehensive technical training program, complemented by the development of the specialist skills required in the sales and service environment, will enable you to start your new position effectively.

Customer visits require frequent travel (> 50% of work time).


Qualifications

The position requires a University Degree in electrical /communications engineering, physics or equivalent course of study and minimum 3 years’ professional experience in digital and/or photonic test and measurement applications.

The following job-related skills are required:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Digital and Photonics test fundamentals in theory and practical measurement applications
  • Practical experience using Oscilloscopes, Bit Error Rate Testers, Arbitrary Waveform Generators, Logic and Protocol Analyzers, optical instruments and other state-of-the-art measurement instrumentation
  • Understanding the fundamentals of generation, demodulation and analysis of digital communication signals
  • Basic Knowledge of High Speed Digital PHY standards like PCIe, USB, DP, HDMI, MIPI, Ethernet, OIF CEI.
  • Practical experience in the development and setup of test systems
  • Programming skills applied in a T&M environment using programming languages such as Python, Matlab, and C/C++/C#
  • Understanding of I/O connectivity and instrument drivers
  • Business proficiency in German and English languages required

The complexity of the business environment in a fast-growing market demands strong international teamwork with other Keysight organizations and the flexibility to adopt new technologies quickly. A strong pro-active customer focus and professional presentation experience is required. The delivery of customer training and seminars requires excellent teaching skills. It is important that you like to communicate and work together with other people in a team.
