Sr. Civil Engineer- Municipal Team Lead

Job Description

LaBella has an immediate opening for a Team Leader in our Municipal Group. Reporting to the Discipline Leader, this position is responsible for leading a team of project managers, design professionals, and technical support staff working with public sector (Municipal and State agency) clients and projects throughout the NY. The position is based in our Potsdam, NY office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Project development, client interaction, project management, and technical design primarily for public sector clients (municipal, county, state, and non-profit).
2. Developing professional services proposals, managing projects and clients, devising technical approaches, and participating in public presentations and engagement processes.
3. Overseeing project design and construction, interfacing with clients, and mentoring less experienced staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• 15-20 years of practical experience in a professional consulting environment.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in NY is required.
• Experience in civil/environmental engineering focusing on municipal/public works engineering and water resources infrastructure.
• Effective communication skills in oral, graphic, and written formats.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and work remotely as needed.
• Ability to manage workload and budgets efficiently.
• Strong collaboration skills across disciplines and locations.
• Experience in project management and financial oversight.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications:

• Experience with public sector funding (e.g., NYSEFC, NYSDEC, WIIA) is a plus. Training available for grant writing/administration.

Salary Range

($115,000 - $145,000). The offered salary depends on experience, education, and location.
