Job Title: Sr Electrical Engineer, EU AMZL Sustainability Engineering, Putzbrunn
EU Sustainability Engineering team is seeking a Sr Electrical Engineer to scale programs within Amazon's electrification transformation. Amazon is committed to sustainability, aiming for net-zero carbon by 2040 under The Climate Pledge. The role involves electrification of last mile and middle mile fleet, and implementing energy-efficient technologies in buildings. Locations available are Munich and London.
Key Responsibilities
- Align and set stakeholder expectations for electrical infrastructure installation for EV charging and smart grids.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive energy efficiency and install IoT technologies like smart meters.
- Manage vendors to ensure quality and smooth on-site interactions.
- Develop and own standards for electrical equipment.
- Validate designs to ensure standards compliance during installation.
- Support Field Engineering in on-site installation preparation.
- Prepare business cases and present to leadership for program scoping.
About a Day in the Life
You will engage with various organizational levels and stakeholder groups, working on decisions impacting Amazon's transportation network. Collaboration with Operations, Process Improvement, Safety, Ergonomics, Finance, Procurement, and vendors will be routine.
About the Team
EU Sustainability Engineering defines and improves electrical standards for EV charging and smart grids, focusing on reliability and cost-efficiency. The team partners closely with other departments to ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
- Master's Degree or higher in electrical engineering or related field.
- Experience leading programs in fast-paced, stakeholder-rich environments.
- Experience with financial planning for large-scale expansion.
- Strong communication skills for complex topics and data analysis.
- Proficiency in Excel, reporting tools, databases, and cloud computing.
- Fluent in English; German proficiency is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Experience in electrical program management, procurement, and maintenance contracting.
- Resource planning in large programs.
- Knowledge of European and global electrical/energy industry players.
- Experience with EV charging and Smart Grid technologies.
