BBIS has an opening for a Live-in Mentor/Boarding Life Coordinator (f/m/d)

Full-Time: 40 Hours per Week
Start date: 1st August 2025
Time limited: 2 years

Purpose of Position

  • Reporting to: Head of Boarding
  • Aim of stipend role: To support the Head of Boarding to promote the welfare and care of boarding students (personal, emotional & social wellbeing) at BBIS Boarding and to day-to-day operation of boarding.

YOUR QUALIFICATION

  • A commitment to the welfare and development of young people. A passion for education and young people.
  • Experience in working with young people, preferably in a residential setting. University degree.
  • A creative mindset and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Passion about intercultural exchange and education.
  • Understand the demands of boarding school life and have the ability to maintain the professional framework of a boarding environment.
  • Initiative and willingness to work in an ambitious and dynamic community.

OUR OFFER

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES

  • To perform duties alongside the other boarding mentors as a live-in mentor.
In addition to the tasks, roles and responsibilities of a live-in boarding mentor:
  • Ensure all policies, procedures and protocols related to BBIS Boarding are known to all students and staff.
  • In conjunction with counsellors and academic staff, coordinate support and intervention strategies for all borders.
  • Provide support and guidance in ensuring a comprehensive activities programme meets the needs of all boarders and is student-focused.
  • Provide guidance, coordination and direction regarding CAS, Work Experience, TOK and Personal Project for MYP and DP.
  • Provide pedagogical advice and guidance on matters arising in the absence of the Head of Boarding.

This task list is not to be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive and will be amended from time to time, in the light of the changing needs of the boarding programme.

Important: Before beginning the employment at BBIS, the following documents must be submitted:

  • Proof of immunity against measles, which must have been confirmed by a doctor if you were born after 1970. Alternatively, a medical certificate of medical contraindication can be provided.
  • The original certificate of the highest obtained (university) degree.
  • An extended certificate of conduct that must not be older than six months.

These documents are required to comply with legal and internal employment regulations.
