Mission of the Role:

Join our dynamic team to lead display development for local and global Visteon customer programs for Instrument Clusters and Displays products. The role is required to manage all aspects of display development throughout the pursuit and development phases. Specific tasks include technical interface to customer, evaluation of customer requirements, selection of display technology and supplier, technical interface to display supplier, and technical interface to other engineering teams (Mechanical, Electronics, Software, System).

Key Objectives of this Role:

• Responsible for all aspects of the display sub-system, including:
• Requirements analysis.
• Display specification and component selection.
• Definition of display interface and driver requirements.
• Electrical and optical measurement.
• Design verification.
• Manufacturing support.
  
  

Key Performance Indicators:

• Customer Technical Relationship: Building strong technical connections with customers and display engineers is a key objective.
• Project Timeline Adherence: Assigned display development tasks and project milestones completed on schedule.
• Problem Resolution Efficiency: Diagnose and resolve technical display-related issues impacting project timelines.
• Documentation Quality (Project): Completeness and accuracy of technical documentation related to display specifications and integration for projects.
• Supplier Technical Management: Effectiveness in guiding and collaborating with display suppliers to meet project requirements.
• On-Time Customer Deliverables: Meeting all customer-driven deadlines is a primary measure of success.
• Effective Technical Presentations: Successfully presenting display proposals to customers in technical reviews is crucial.

Successful Display Technology and Supplier Recommendations: Contribute effective recommendations for display technology and suppliers that align with project needs.

Establishment of Positive Working Relationships: Build strong, collaborative relationships with customers and the internal engineering team.

Proactive Engagement with New Technologies: Demonstrate initiative in learning about and exploring new display technologies relevant to the automotive industry.

Qualification, Experience, and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electronics or another relevant engineering/science discipline.
• In-depth knowledge of the following areas, particularly as they relate to TFT-LCDs:
  • Display technologies and their fundamental principles of operation.
  • Display performance factors and limitations.
  • Display manufacturing processes and controls.
  • Display and display system design (including display driving requirements).
  • Display testing and measurement.
• Proficiency in standard office productivity tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and Outlook for email communication is required.
• Fluent in English, German is considered a strong advantage.

Desired Competencies/Experience

• Development of display systems for high-volume manufacture.
• Capacitive touch interface design and development.
• Leading capacitive touch controllers and SW algorithms used to maximize touch sensitivity.
• Development of automotive electronics.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to Display Application Manager, located in the United States.
