A vacancy for a FTI System Engineer (m/f/d) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching .

The successful applicant will join “TEYVI-TL2 FTI Systems Eng. & Operations GE” .

As a specialist for FTI (Flight Test Instrumentation) you perform system engineering and project management tasks and you are directly involved in the preparation and execution of the Manching Flight Test activities.

The FTI Systems Engineering & Operations Team supports a broad variety of data gathering systems for numerous technical and tactical purposes at the Manching site and during campaign activities at external test ranges.

To support external test campaigns, occasional business trips are required.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

You are responsible for the preparation and operation of the FTI for the Airbus Defence and Space Test Aircrafts in Manching

You are the POC for the FT Engineer, the FT Analysis Engineer, the A/C support crew as well as for the FT external stakeholders

You support and execute definition and design of FTMs from a system and operational perspective for airborne and ground based data gathering systems (incl. hardware and software) as well as their operation

Project Management for FTM projects

Pre- / Post flight activities, FTM are in your field of activities

In close cooperation with the A/C Ground Crews and System Specialists you perform fault location as well as support, modification, calibration and repair activities related to FTMs

Support to generation of porposals

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

Bachelor/Master in Engineering (Aeronautical, Electronics, Automation, Measurement and Test, Systems, Telecommunication) or comparable qualification

A broad technical background (aircraft systems, mechanical-, electrical- , data- gathering and telemetry systems), as well as the task to harmonize various stakeholder needs, contributes to the attractiveness of this position

Experience in systems engineering

Experience in project management

Capability to execute activities under your own responsibility

Experience in On-A/C maintenance, fault location, FTI operation

Excellent communication, coordination and integration skills

Willingness for occasional business trips

Willingness for continued professional training

German fluent

Spanish is a plus
