Job Description:

Renesas is looking for an experienced Senior Staff System Engineer (f/m/d) for our Automotive Solution Business Group based in our Office in Munich, Dresden or Kirchheim-Teck Germany. Our Research & Development team designs and verifies ASICs, ASSPs and next generation semiconductor products for automotive sensor solutions. As a member of our Research & Development Team, you will interface with Analog, Digital, Verification Leads, Designers, and Lab Test Engineers and contribute significantly to our success in a highly visible manner. As part of multi-disciplinary international project teams, your duties will include:

  • Understanding system applications and providing support.
  • Feasibility analysis, defining, and analyzing innovative architectures including technical evaluation of alternatives.
  • Deriving, breaking down, and describing/defining customer/application requirements, system or chip architecture, key requirements, and functional blocks.
  • Supporting, guiding, and cooperating with the project team from start to production release.
  • Taking responsibility and providing technical leadership for architecture within the project team.
  • Collaborating closely with customers, partnering with technical decision-makers, product marketing, and product development, including design-in of new products at customer sites.
  • Supporting roadmap definition, technology decision-making/sourcing, and reviewing technical content.

Your Profile

  • 7-8 years of experience as a Senior Staff System Engineer.
  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with customer engagements.
  • Proficiency in analog/digital circuit design, interface to digital/analog, schematic entry, circuit simulation, and system modeling.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art methodologies and tools for SoC system modeling, analog and digital signal processing, and design, including verification tools like Spectre (Spice), Matlab Simulink, SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL/WREAL.
  • Understanding or strong interest in automotive and functional safety development processes and standards based on IATF16949 & ISO26262.
  • Self-starting attitude with a strong drive for delivering results in an SoC-driven R&D environment.
  • Valid residence and work permit for Germany.
  • Fluent in English; German language skills are advantageous.
  • Team player, self-directed, capable of independent work, and interdisciplinary thinking.
