Your Tasks :
- As the Legal Director, you will be the key contact for legal matters across OPEA, including our small-medium scale partnering & transactions business.
- Act as a steering member of the OPEA Senior Management Team.
- Manage team performance to ensure efficiency and quality in a high-performance environment.
- Operate as an entrepreneur, responsibly, strategically, and economically, in processes affecting the legal area and OPEA processes.
- Serve as a Senior Legal Counsel to the OPEA Board and business, coordinating legal support through your teams.
- Cover Board Office, Corporate & Partnering Law topics.
- Handle Regulatory and Real Estate law matters.
- Draft and review agreements, tenders, and other commercial documents.
- Provide legal counsel on regulatory compliance, licensing, and new project development.
- Offer standard legal documents and contracts, and negotiate contracts.
- Support claim management and dispute resolution processes.
- Manage external legal advisors, developing efficient governance and cost control measures.
- Oversee all legal processes related to your areas of responsibility, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Manage OPEA's small-medium partnering and transactions business, coordinating larger transactions with RWE group M&A functions.
- Host the OPEA Compliance function.
- Collaborate closely with RWE stakeholders, including the Group General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and other Heads of Legal.
Your Profile :
- University degree in law with distinction.
- Several years of relevant experience, ideally with a consulting background.
- Solid experience in Corporate and Partnering Law, renewables, and project structuring.
- Strong leadership skills and organizational, analytical, and standardization abilities.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks and decision-making procedures.
- Knowledge of business models, regulatory, and technical developments and their implications.
- Willingness to travel internationally regularly.
- Excellent communication skills in English; German skills are an advantage.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, manage, and delegate effectively.
- Capacity for people development and full potential realization.
- Performance-driven, strategic thinker, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to lead teams through change and collaborate across global teams.
