Role Description

This is a contract role for a Desktop Support Engineer. The Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting desktop computers, handling printer support, and troubleshooting hardware issues. This position is on-site and located in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up and maintaining computer hardware, providing technical support, and resolving any IT-related issues that arise.

Job Description

  1. Scope of the Role

Our client is looking to recruit a Desktop Support Engineer on an ongoing contract basis to support its large user base with new technology. The successful candidate will handle support issues escalated from the IT Service Desk, provide BAU systems administration, and support project-based requirements encompassing:

  • Perform installation, training, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of desktop hardware and software
  • Assist in the setup and operation of audio-visual hardware as required by end-users
  • Determine appropriate hardware and software based on corporate policy and end-user requirements
  • Respond to incidents within SLA or in a timely manner, following up with customers on all issues
  • Disconnect, move, and reconnect desktop hardware for single users, multi-user setups, and office relocations
  • Roll out, deploy, and upgrade desktop devices using imaging tools such as SCCM
  • Assist in the administration and maintenance of technology infrastructure components
  • Support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of office telephony systems
  • Use the corporate incident management system to record and track all support activities
  • Maintain accurate hardware and software records for corporate assets
