We seek to appoint a leading expert with an internationally visible profile in research, teaching, and patient care. The successful candidate will also be responsible for directing the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. The department encompasses all disciplines in psychology and psychotherapy and is associated with independent departments for child and adolescent mental health as well as psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy.
Applicants must have a strong leadership profile with several years of research and departmental management experience, along with skills in staff management and organizational leadership. The professor will be expected to collaborate closely in research and patient care with neighboring disciplines and departments at Uniklinikum Erlangen.
The professorship will involve collaboration in research networks at the Faculty of Medicine (such as Collaborative Research Centers, Research Training Groups, and the Interdisciplinary Center for Clinical Research) and teaching students across various programs, including Medicine, Dentistry, Molecular Medicine (BSc, MSc), Medical Process Management, Midwifery Sciences, and Logopedics. Programs like Medical Engineering and Integrated Immunology are offered in collaboration with other faculties.
Successful candidates should demonstrate an excellent academic record in research and teaching at the highest international standards, with substantial research experience abroad or in international collaborations, and experience in managing research projects and securing third-party funding. Candidates must hold a university degree, an outstanding doctoral degree, and have a passion for education with relevant teaching experience. Fluency in both English and German is preferred. Additional postdoctoral qualifications, such as a habilitation or equivalent, are required, which may be obtained in non-university settings or through junior faculty positions. Candidates must also hold a license to practice medicine in psychiatry and psychotherapy.
