A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Post Doc in electrochemistry, you will be part of the ICB development team and serve as a technical expert within the Innovation Centre Berlin, contributing to our energy transition goals and Siemens Energy's future.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Engage in innovative R&D for next-generation electrolysis technologies aimed at decarbonizing industrial processes.
  • Investigate fundamental aspects of low-temperature CO₂ electrolysis to maintain technology leadership and competitiveness.
  • Provide advanced technical knowledge in electrocatalysis and electrochemistry to support the electrolyzer team.
  • Assist in developing electrolyzer core components, scaling from lab to product sizes.
  • Enhance team capabilities through collaboration and innovative problem-solving in an international environment.
  • Translate global research trends into future R&D directions and technical solutions.

What You Bring

  • Doctorate in chemical engineering, electrochemistry, materials science, or related field, with experience in electro-catalytic electrode and cell design, especially on CO₂ electrolysis.
  • Expertise in electrochemical characterization, catalyst/electrolyte interfaces, and degradation mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in analytical techniques like gas chromatography, NMR, microscopy, SEM/EDX, XRD, XPS, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopy.
  • Experience in managing technical projects, data analysis, and technical reporting.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, MATLAB, Origin, LabVIEW, and mathematical modeling.
  • Strong communication skills in English, basic German knowledge preferred.
