Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Business Development Teams identify, develop, and implement near-term and long-term business development strategies related to new products, technologies, and services. They identify markets and assess the feasibility of business and product development. Our teams perform economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities, develop business models, and analyze market trends to support long-term growth.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for implementing a global system to ensure a healthy innovation pipeline for future Data Connectivity products. This involves engaging with technology market leaders. The position reports to the Senior Manager of Product Management for Data Connectivity, with responsibilities in Business Development and Product Cost Management.

  • Evaluate upcoming architectures and applications to provide strategic input to Product Management for the future Data Connectivity portfolio.
  • Translate market needs and trends into requirements for next-generation Data Connectivity products. Support product managers with technical customer inquiries.
  • Provide business insights, such as market estimations and application use cases, for innovative ideas.
  • Identify and drive initiatives for new Automotive Data Connectivity applications.
  • Manage project activities for new opportunities, including prototypes and samples, aiming to transfer technologies into the Data Connectivity pipeline.
  • Facilitate communication between TE and new technology providers (semiconductors, start-ups, academia) on development efforts and trends.

Required Background:

  • Engineer with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, information technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical, business development, or product management role.
  • Knowledge of contact systems and OEM/HM preferences.
  • Strong technical and commercial understanding.
  • Proactive team player capable of managing internal and external activities independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in English and German (spoken and written).
  • Willingness to travel within EMEA and globally.
