The Contracts Division (COS) provides contractual and commercial expertise across the organisation, contributing to ensuring that procurements are timely, well managed and follow the EUMETSAT financial and procurement rules, procedures and best practices.

As an organisation we are operating a fleet of satellites delivering weather and climate-related satellite data and images to our users worldwide; helping protect lives, property and industries. However, you do not need to be an engineer or a scientist to make a positive contribution. Our specialist administrative and support functions play an equally important role in enabling the success of the EUMETSAT programmes.
You will be reporting to the Head of Purchasing Group, is the sole member of the team responsible for handling procurements below KEUR100 within the Purchasing Group. The post handles approximately 1000 transactions with a portfolio value of about MEUR15 per year.

Full secondary education is required. Professional membership or qualification in Purchasing and Supply or similar is desirable.

Candidates must be able to work effectively in English. As this position involves frequent interactions with local companies, fluency in the German language is essential.

EUMETSAT’s role is to establish and operate meteorological satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This information is supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisation’s Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide.
EUMETSAT also operates several Copernicus missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users.
