Origination & Advisory Technology

This team aims to build trusted relationships with major corporates, financial institutions, sponsors, and sovereigns worldwide. We develop a core analytical platform serving various businesses, supporting Deutsche Bank’s growth and competitiveness in the payments market. The team handles billions of records for reporting, data analysis, and data science, providing insights into client activity and profitability. We are creating an interactive analytical platform to track key business metrics and support decision-making across Europe, APAC, and the Americas.

Role: Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer (f/m/x)

You will bridge business needs with technical solutions, ensuring high-quality data for decision-making. Collaborating with stakeholders, you will analyze data flows, clarify requirements, and design ETL processes aligned with modern data architecture principles. We seek an engineer with strong analytical skills, data modeling knowledge, and the ability to translate business needs into effective data solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to gather, refine, and document data requirements and flows.
  • Design, implement, and maintain ETL processes from various sources.
  • Create documentation for data processes, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Recommend best practices for data modeling, schema design, and governance.
  • Support deployment and provide third-level support for data issues.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in working with business stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data modeling principles, and schema design (Kimball, Inmon, Star/Snowflake).
  • Hands-on experience with ETL development and data ingestion technologies (Relational DBMS, APIs, streaming).
  • Ability to code in JVM languages (Java/Scala) and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, and columnar databases like ClickHouse.
