As a Snr ACES Manager (PMO), you will play an integral role in developing and scaling the governance structure and framework for programs and projects used by PMs across all EU Amazon Transportation teams. This framework will support PMs in managing their projects and will integrate with the Change Management process for operational changes.

You will partner with PMs and organizational leaders to help identify gaps in project roadmaps, assess risks, report opportunities, unblock project progress, and develop the PM community. Your efforts will make PMO services more efficient and simplify project management, helping teams achieve strategic goals. This is a significant opportunity to impact the future of Amazon.

The Snr ACES Manager (PMO) is part of the Operational Excellence, Learning, and ACES Transportation team, working with PMs delivering programs across the EU Amazon Transportation network. The role involves collaboration across functions and regions, with approximately 20-30% travel across the EU.

Location is flexible within any EU Corporate Office.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Further simplify and automate project governance and templates.
  2. Enhance reporting solutions for project progress and health assessments.
  3. Facilitate program prioritization and highlight projects requiring course correction.
  4. Support in unblocking project progress and achieving strategic targets.
  5. Collaborate with partner teams to integrate end-to-end processes.
  6. Develop PM capabilities and foster a PM network across EU Amazon Transportation.

A typical day involves:

Reporting progress to senior leaders, collaborating with PMs to identify risks and opportunities, automating reporting, and optimizing program workflows. Building scalable solutions and developing PM skills are also key aspects.

Qualifications include:

  • Degree in business, supply chain, economics, or related fields.
  • Experience in project management or management consulting.
  • Proficiency in data analysis with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience communicating with senior stakeholders.
  • Process improvement and analytical tool building skills.
  • Project management certifications (PMP/CAPM/PRINCE2).
  • Knowledge of methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, Scrum.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, MS Project).
