Jobbeschreibung

Valentum Engineering has its roots in the automotive industry. After successfully establishing ourselves as a development partner for well-known vehicle manufacturers, automotive suppliers and system suppliers, numerous customers from other industries now also rely on our support. We are active in all development phases - from specification to software/hardware development and validation through to testing.

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative engineer with deep expertise in Steering and/or Steer-by-Wire (SbW) systems. You will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of advanced control strategies for next-generation steering systems.

The ideal candidate will have deep understanding and interest in modeling of Steering and/or SbW control strategies especially for highly automated vehicles, including stability and safety control based on Steering and/or SbW system. Your role in a multidisciplinary team requires collaboration with our global research and development community. Your will be working on future trends of technologies, architectures, requirements in Vehicle Steering Technologies.

  • Research, develop, design and tune steering features e.g. steering feel characteristics to deliver an exceptional driving experience.
  • Integrate Steering and/or SbW systems with vehicle dynamics controllers (brake, ADS/ADAS, VDC,..).
  • Conduct vehicle-level testing and calibration to validate steering feel and system robustness.
  • Utilize tools (e.g., Vector tools Canape, Canoe, dSpace, Matlab-Simulink) to model and verify system performance.
  • Support functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity compliance for SbW systems.
  • Contribute to HMI strategy, ensuring natural and intuitive driver interaction with digital steering.

  • Master’s or higher degree in Automotive Engineering Control Systems or a related field, with a focus on steering systems.
  • 6+ years of experience in developing control systems for Steering and/or SbW or related chassis systems.
  • Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics principles, kinematics, and control theory.
  • Proven expertise in designing and deploying control algorithms for Steering and/or SbW or autonomous driving systems.
  • Strong communication capabilities. Ability to make the planned deliverables happen under pressure.
  • Enthusiastic to work as part of our international team and fluent communication skills in English.
  • Willing to travel to China (about 20% of time)

  • Challenge. Exciting projects with the technology "of tomorrow" and responsible tasks right from the start.
  • Openness. Flat hierarchies, open doors and regular appraisal interviews.
  • Development. In-house and external training programs.
  • Fun. Regular events such as workshops, get-togethers, cooking evenings, sports events and much more.
