Position: Junior Trader on the Equity Market Making Desk
In this role, you will immerse yourself in the fast-paced environment of equity trading, gaining valuable experience and insights. You will collaborate with seasoned traders and quantitative analysts, deepening your understanding of market dynamics, trading strategies, and risk management.
Responsibilities:
- Become a market maker for equities, ETFs (equity and fixed income), and other ETPs, providing liquidity and facilitating efficient trading.
- Collaborate with senior traders to prepare detailed reports and presentations on trading performance.
- Support the development and optimization of trading systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Design, refine, and implement trading algorithms to improve execution strategies and adapt to market conditions.
- Maintain and update trading systems and databases for accuracy and reliability.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, price movements, and trading volumes to inform decisions.
- Understand and apply risk management practices and ensure compliance within trading operations.
- Leverage programming skills in Python to automate data processing, enhance visualization, and streamline workflows.
- Assist in optimizing liquidity management and treasury operations to ensure effective cash flow, funding strategies, and risk mitigation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, including data manipulation with Pandas, NumPy, and Tkinter.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including functions, charts, and pivot tables.
- Strong interest in financial markets, trading concepts, and investment strategies.
- Basic understanding of risk management and compliance regulations (advantageous).
- Solid analytical skills to evaluate data and identify trends.
- Strong attention to detail in data handling and reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and support senior traders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German is a plus).
