THE ROLE & THE TEAM

At Zalando Fashion, we are seeking a proactive and trend-led Assistant Buyer to join our dynamic Buying team. We are looking for an Assistant Buyer in Premium Fashion Heritage to join our team.

As an Assistant Buyer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our product selection and brand strategies. Working closely with our Buyers, you will leverage your keen eye for trends and your deep understanding of the European market to curate a strong assortment.

You will support the Buying team in product selection and brand strategies, negotiate terms with suppliers, ensure an efficient and compliant ordering process, and assist the wider buying team in collaboration with the planning team. Additionally, you will support the team with analysis and trend topics, contributing to the creative and commercial strategy of the unit.

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Ensure the unit reaches its seasonal financial targets within your responsibility area.
• Oversee the end-to-end order process and support analytical needs for the team and partners.
• Provide insights and recommendations for future seasons to grow the business and support brand partners.
• Conduct product research and manage the process from product raise to online launch.
• Support operational tasks such as creating, maintaining, and managing orders, ensuring compliance with procedures.
• Act as the first contact for suppliers, supporting smooth workflow alongside buyers.

• You have +2 years experience in buying, merchandising, or similar operational roles.
• You possess knowledge and passion for streetwear and emerging brands globally.
• You can coordinate operational and strategic issues with guidance and support.
• You can build an assortment based on market knowledge and platform services.
• You have basic negotiation skills and are eager to develop them.
• You can build relationships with brand partners and communicate strategies effectively.
