SOS International LLC (SOSi) is currently looking for a Systems Engineer to work at Patch Barracks, Germany. The candidate will be responsible for working with multiple members of systems and network teams around the globe and supporting information sharing with our international partners. In support of our customers, the Systems Engineer provides systems expertise, hardware/software installation, and network troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Establish IT requirements in the development of enterprise-wide/large-scale, Client/Server infrastructures (CAN, MAN, WAN).
- Design architectures to include operating systems, applications and hardware to support total customer requirements as well as to provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
- Perform troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems.
- Maintain a server change log to document issues and resolutions for future reference.
- Perform back up and restoration procedures.
- Update and maintain anti-virus software.
- Account creation and active directory management (group policy, privilege management).
- Validate and test all server and workstation updates, patches, and upgrades prior to implementing on the network.
- Apply and enforce patches, updates, and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Install, configure and maintain servers and services (i.e. VMware, Domain Controllers, SharePoint, Sametime, WSUS, SQL and SCCM).
- Install, configure and update application software.
- Perform Configuration Management functions to include license management.
- Monitor and report on system performance (i.e. issues with CPU activity, drive space, temperature).
- Build and maintain Active Directory Domains, Sites and Services, Forests and Trusts.
- SolarWinds network mapping and monitoring.
- Group Policy creation, editing, management.
- Exchange administration.
- Understanding of network devices and the CLI.
- WSUS Exports/Imports, Windows Deployment Toolkit.
- Netapp configuration and builds, Software Defined Networking and Software Defined Data Center via VMWare NSX.
- Administering Microsoft Certificate Authority.
- Maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems.
- Sets up administrator and service accounts.
- Maintains system documentation.
- Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- May program in an administrative language.
- Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
- Provides advice and training to end-users.
- Participates in special projects as required.
- Patches and updates multiple client and server operating systems to Department of Defense guidelines.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues with Microsoft Windows based servers and devices.
- Develops scripts and tools to automate and improve user support activities.
Qualifications
- An active in-scope TS/SCI clearance.
- High School Diploma with eleven (11) years IT experience OR, Associate's degree with seven (7) plus years of experience OR, a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
- DoD 8570 IAT level II compliant (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP).
- Must be able to obtain certification as a Technical Expert by the German Government under the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) process.
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, digital certificates, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft servers.
- Interaction with SQL Databases.
- Experience with creating secure host baseline images for workstations and knowledge of DISA STIGS.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
- MCSA/MCSE/MCITP certification.
- Familiarity with VMWare.
- Knowledge of US Mission Command Systems (MCS), and NATO Functional Area Services (FAS) applications is a plus.
- Experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).
- Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.
