Description

Northland Controls Germany GmbH is seeking a Service Technician to join our team in Munich.

The mission of the Service Technician is to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and install complete systems, including wiring, in accordance with client and Northland Controls documented standards.

DUTIES

  • Complete service calls and routine inspections, addressing technical difficulties/problems, resolving faults/queries with systems, and replacing equipment as required.
  • Provide phone technical support and onsite support to clients and colleagues.
  • Test all equipment after termination to ensure system performance.
  • Adhere to the project schedule, ensuring compliance with each phase’s estimate (e.g., wire pull, mounting). Regularly alert the Program, Project, or Service Manager of delays.
  • Complete and log paperwork promptly, including vehicle logs, timecards, and service requests.
  • Maintain a daily log of customer requests, work performed, job numbers, dates, times, and tasks.
  • Communicate project status, delays, or changing requirements to the Service or Program Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Commissioning Engineer and Systems Engineers on fault fixing to ensure system compliance.
  • Follow up with the Service Manager for job closeout and client turnover.
  • Work in compliance with Northland’s Safety Manual, prioritizing safety always.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of industry experience in security installations, servicing, or design.
  • Experience with systems such as Lenel, CCure, or Genetec is required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Skills

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks accurately in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • IT literacy, including MS Office, especially MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of IP technology and basic networking (e.g., Cisco, TCP/IP, routing, switching).
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse teams.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
