At Hitachi Energy, we are recruiting a Material Manager for our High Voltage Business Unit. A Material Manager oversees procurement, supply, and logistics of manufacturing materials. Responsibilities include establishing operational plans, developing new products and processes, and communicating with leadership.

The Material Manager will drive processes to reduce inventory levels sustainably, achieve high service levels, and optimize material flows, stock levels, and inventory management for efficiency and resilience.

Your responsibilities:

1. Harmonize processes to optimize stock levels through efficient ERP usage.
2. Define measurements to analyze optimal stock levels.
3. Liaise with the Supply Chain function to ensure smooth material flow and resilient supply chain.
4. Streamline procurement procedures for smooth material flow.
5. Define harmonized inventory storage procedures.
6. Implement robust material planning processes to meet customer demands.
7. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks early.
8. Forecast and analyze inventory levels to ensure efficient routines.
9. Identify and drive improvements in purchasing processes.
10. Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility and caring for colleagues and the business.

Your background:

• Minimum 15 years of experience as Material Manager or Coordinator.
• University degree in engineering, materials, or related field.
• Operational and inventory management mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, both quantitative and qualitative.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Experience working with large, remote, multi-cultural teams.
• Excellent project management skills, with initiative, structure, and prioritization abilities.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement is a plus.
• Proficiency in SAP.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus.
