Who we are

We are Xempus, Germany's leading independent Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform for managing and distributing pension, life, and health insurance. Our mission is to make these insurances digital, understandable, efficient, and accessible for everyone. Since 2007, we have been driving the digitalization of the insurance industry. At Xempus, we believe in making a difference together—whether from our offices or from home. Join us to create a more secure future for all!

The role

As a passionate, self-directed Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for delivering value by helping to digitalize processes for insurance companies and internal users. This involves understanding their pain points and how our products address these. You will define a strong vision based on the current environment and target state, collaborating with engineering to deliver on this vision.

Responsibilities:
  • Define the vision, concept, and roadmap for insurance APIs in alignment with company goals.
  • Futureproof the current API landscape by identifying opportunities for new APIs and enhancements.
  • Develop an understanding of the insurance API market and position Xempus products strategically.
  • Collaborate with insurance carriers, brokers, third-party ISVs, and internal teams to gather product requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering and business teams to create scalable, secure, and developer-friendly APIs for seamless integration.
  • Contribute to the overall Product strategy as an active member of the Product team at Xempus.

What we are looking for
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years focused on API products.
  • Strong understanding of API design principles and experience with tools like Postman, Swagger, and OpenAPI.
  • Knowledge of insurance processes such as policy issuance, underwriting, and premium calculations is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with insurance industry standards, e.g., BiPRO, is an advantage.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks like GDPR is a plus.
  • A track record of delivering value for customers.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and German.

Why Xempus
  • Join one of Europe's leading insurtech companies as it enters its next growth phase.
  • Enjoy creative freedom and quick decision-making in a dynamic, innovative environment.
  • Participate in one of the most generous employee stock option programs in the industry.
  • Benefit from a very attractive contribution to the company pension scheme.
  • Access corporate health insurance with €600 reimbursement annually for medical and pharmacy costs.
  • Work with a fantastic team in a vibrant company culture (parties, charity events, etc.).
  • Enjoy hybrid working options for flexibility and family friendliness.
  • Access extensive personal and professional development opportunities, including training budgets, courses, and career growth paths.
  • Take advantage of health offerings like bike leasing and EGYMWellpass.
  • Work in modern, centrally located offices with free drinks and fruit.
  • Option for unpaid extra holidays beyond the standard 30 days per year.
