adjoe is a leading mobile ad platform developing cutting-edge advertising and monetization solutions that elevate its app partners’ businesses. Part of the applike group ecosystem, adjoe boasts an advanced tech stack, strong financial backing from Bertelsmann, and a motivated workforce. We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance our Cloud Engineering team.

The Cloud Engineering team is central to adjoe’s tech department. It manages the infrastructure that enables our developers to deploy their software and supports the company's growth.

Utilizing various AWS services, Kubernetes, and open source projects, the team continuously explores new cloud and architecture solutions to efficiently process large data volumes. They balance the use of self-managed and managed services to cut costs—saving approximately $300K monthly—while maintaining security and ease of use for developers.

To ensure high service quality and minimal downtime, the team invests in monitoring and alerting technologies, providing insights into system health across networking, logs, cloud services, and hardware. They also develop solutions, documentation, and share knowledge with the broader developer community at adjoe, fostering autonomy and system reliability.

What You Will Do:

  1. Collaborate with experienced DevOps engineers to innovate and improve our cloud infrastructure using new technologies and optimizing existing setups.
  2. Design and implement solutions leveraging AWS services and open source tools.
  3. Support backend development with Go, working across multiple global data centers.
  4. Engage with experts from diverse technical backgrounds and share your expertise.
  5. Work with our tech stack, including DruidDB, Kafka, DynamoDB, AirFlow, Apache Spark, RDS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Gitlab, ECS, EMR, Lambda, CI/CD pipelines, Prometheus, data pipelines, and Go.
  6. Assist in migrating architecture components to new Kubernetes and Kafka clusters, and in deploying Apache Spark or Flink, as well as setting up a hosted object storage solution.
  7. Troubleshoot complex system issues, conduct root cause analyses, and implement solutions.

Who You Are:

  • You have 3+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer, SRE, or Platform Engineer, with a passion for scalability, cloud infrastructure, and coding.
  • You are experienced with Kubernetes, managing containerized applications effectively.
  • You possess a deep understanding of AWS services such as DynamoDB, SQS, EKS, IAM, and infrastructure as code with Terraform.
  • You understand microservice architecture and inter-service communication mechanisms.
  • You are proficient with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
  • You have strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
  • You are motivated to learn new technologies and tools.
  • You are open to relocating to Hamburg, Germany.

Benefits:

  • Career growth support through feedback and development programs.
  • Relocation assistance, including visa support and a relocation bonus.
  • Flexible hybrid work setup, 30 vacation days, remote work options, and in-house gym access.
  • Work in a scenic office with modern amenities and snacks.
