Role Overview

This position involves the technical integration and operation of distributed energy resources (DERs) such as BESS, biogas plants, CHPs, solar parks, and wind farms into our virtual power plant platform. You will work on projects across Europe, primarily in Germany, the UK, and the Netherlands, ensuring seamless technical interfaces, supporting asset operation, and collaborating with software teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage integration and operation of DERs into the VPP platform.
  • Develop, build, commission, and operate DER projects in Europe.
  • Specify and troubleshoot technical interfaces using protocols like Modbus TCP/RTU, IEC 104, MQTT.
  • Support the Short Term Trading team during outages and coordinate resolutions.
  • Build and maintain a partner and supplier network for reliable asset operation.
  • Coordinate with software development to ensure technical solutions meet market requirements.

Qualifications

  • Degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum two years' experience with DER integration and operation.
  • Proficiency in programming (Javascript, Node-RED, Python) is advantageous.
  • Experience with industrial protocols (Modbus, IEC 104, MQTT), SCADA, and VPPs.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, VPN, and firewall configuration.
  • Strong communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus.
