Role Title: O/H Power Network Patroller

Department: ESB
Reports to: Patrolling Supervisor
Location: Munster

Role Purpose:
Responsible for patrolling the ESB Electrical Networks for the purpose of identifying refurbishment work that is required at each pole location. All findings are recorded on ESB app where information is fed to back office for the purpose of QC and creating a BOQ for the works.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all works is carried out in adherence to ESB safety standards.
  • Ensure Survey is carried out in line with ESB guidelines.
  • Ensure all survey findings are recorded accurately.
  • Report all Near misses/Good catches encountered onsite.

Sample of checks to be carried out:

  • Checking poles for rot or damage.
  • Complete Madison Bore checks.
  • Identify headgear that needs replacement.
  • Check overhead conductor for damage.
  • Check ground clearance in adjacent span to pole.
  • Identify any hazards on the network.
  • Identify any upgrade works that are required at pole location.

Person Specification:

Education/Qualifications:

  • Safe pass.
  • Full Clean Driving license.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working on ESB networks an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Must be confident working on their own initiative.
