At bp, our primary focus is the energy of tomorrow.

We aim to rethink energy to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. We rely on the expertise and passion of approximately 66,000 employees worldwide, including around 4,000 in Germany. They ensure energy and mobility for millions of people today and in the future through our brands bp, Aral, and Castrol.

Why pursue a Bachelor's in Engineering with a focus on Process Engineering?

As a Bachelor of Engineering in Process Engineering, you'll make chemical processes cleaner, safer, and more efficient. You will undertake diverse and challenging tasks in research, development, and application of chemical processes, such as producing fuels from biogenic raw materials. You will also participate in planning, constructing, and operating chemical plants.

Your dual study program prepares you perfectly for professional life. Initially, you will acquire foundational knowledge in mathematics, inorganic and organic chemistry, and physics. As your studies progress, you will become an expert in process engineering, technical chemistry, equipment construction, process dynamics and control, and process design. Additional elective modules in related fields are also available.

Your semester is divided into two halves: you will study in blocks at Osnabrück University on the Lingen campus and work in the company in Gelsenkirchen during the lecture-free periods. You will be part of the team and discover new connections between theory and practice.

What to expect as a dual student with us:

  • Two-week orientation event focusing on getting to know each other, team building, computer training, and introduction to business areas to prepare you for the training.
  • Practical assignments in various technical departments.
  • Lectures at Osnabrück University in block format.

Our requirements:

  • General university entrance qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of technical-physical concepts.
  • Ability to work in a team, initiative, and sense of responsibility.

What we offer:

  • €1,103 per month in the first year of training.
  • Vacation and Christmas bonuses.
  • Performance-based bonus payments.
  • 30 days of vacation.
  • Work materials (laptop).
  • Coverage of tuition fees for the dual study program.
  • Structured onboarding program and mentorship support.
  • Aral fuel card (discounted fueling).
  • Contribution to charitable donations and recognition of volunteer work, with bp doubling personal donations and volunteer hours.
