We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Berlin – DE or London / Birmingham / Manchester – UK.

The Innovation & Engineering vision is to develop novel, end-to-end, process-centric, and sustainable infrastructure concepts, aiming to meet or exceed current True North metrics. The team targets ambitious goals concerning All-in TPH, VCPP, space efficiency (shipments per sqm / cbm), and embodied carbon. It consolidates SMEs to handle complex tasks related to yard, MHE, UTR processes, container design, and sustainability.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Designing Yard and UTR infrastructure concepts, overseeing new builds or retrofits from Building Requirements Sheet to Design Reviews,
  2. Developing functional requirements with ACES and WWDE,
  3. Supporting Procurement in vendor selection,
  4. Collaborating with NASC Engineering to design Middle Mile Nodes using analytical models,
  5. Driving innovation in process and technical solutions for Material Handling Systems and process equipment,
  6. Building strong relationships with EU and NA engineering teams, ACES, Operations, and internal SMEs,
  7. Continuously inspiring innovative ideas to meet and exceed True North targets.

Key qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with proven experience,
  • Experience with automated material handling equipment, robotics, and high-speed manufacturing systems,
  • Experience with process design based on Lean Principles,
  • Experience managing engineering design projects,
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Project, CAD software,
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Engineering, experience in operations, and knowledge of additional languages such as German, French, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans, or Zulu.

This role involves up to 50% travel across EMEA, engaging with Middle Mile operations and corporate offices.
