Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Retain assigned top customers and nurture key relationships over time.
  • Become a strategic partner and advisor to clients, discovering new opportunities for mutual benefit and supporting growth targets.
  • Work closely with various Connectivity & Products locations, business departments, and stakeholders to maintain and expand business with significant clients.
  • Identify potential new clients within the HL industry, develop a network of contacts, research market opportunities, and oversee growth projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop plans for the growth of assigned Hardlines accounts, focusing on increasing "share of wallet" in collaboration with overseas affiliates.
  • Engage in strategic planning, sales management, and prospecting for new clients to grow the business.
  • Support the implementation of global business strategies to develop new Hardlines business streams with international colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with international reporting requirements as a member of the core Hardlines team.
  • Participate actively as part of the Europe HL team, contributing to business development, establishing relationships, and sharing market intelligence.
  • Maintain safe working behaviors, prioritizing health and safety for yourself, colleagues, and clients.
  • Comply with SGS’s Code of Integrity & Professional Conduct and promote equality and diversity policies.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, social sciences, sustainability, or related fields.
  • Understanding of international Hardlines business, with experience in retail, DIY, consumer products, toys, or juvenile products, including industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles and business development.
  • Fluency in English and German.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of SGS international structures and activities.
  • Understanding of SGS Hardlines activities.
