Senior Backend Software Engineer - Lounge by Zalando (all genders)

As a Senior Software Engineer in Lounge Supply, you will join a team committed to design excellence, robust APIs, and an engaging work environment.

You will be responsible for developing tooling to optimize supply for our campaigns on favorable terms. Our team builds both frontend and backend services to support business users, aiming to automate processes wherever possible.

Additionally, you will be involved in replacing legacy systems and establishing a microservice-based, event-driven architecture.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Design backend services to enhance the efficiency of our Lounge by Zalando department and provide essential data for other teams.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and Analysts across Zalando to create a positive customer impact.
• Write clear, maintainable, and testable code.
• Manage features throughout their lifecycle from problem identification to delivery.
• Improve internal processes and documentation.
• Mentor colleagues and new team members, sharing best practices in software development.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of recent industry experience as a backend engineer.
• Strong backend software engineering skills; experience with Golang is a plus.
• Proficiency in software and API design is essential.
• Proficiency with Git is required.
• Interest and experience in additional technology stacks is advantageous.
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems is beneficial.
• Experience building and managing large-scale applications is a plus.
• Strong AWS knowledge and/or Kubernetes experience are advantageous.
