The Technical University Dresden, in collaboration with NaMLab gGmbH, invites applications for a Junior Scientist (PhD candidate) position focused on the development of ferroelectric aluminum nitride-based thin films using atomic layer deposition (ALD). The successful candidate will contribute to advancing nanoscale electronics by developing innovative thin film materials for nonvolatile memory applications.
Key Responsibilities
– Develop an ALD process for the deposition of ferroelectric cation-substituted AlN thin films.
– Integrate the developed thin films into capacitor structures.
– Perform structural and electrical characterization of capacitors.
– Evaluate the reliability of new ferroelectrics for nonvolatile memory applications.
– Collaborate closely with international project partners.
Requirements
– Outstanding M.Sc. or M.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
– Demonstrated interest in device physics and fabrication methods.
– Strong technical comprehension and proficiency in professional English (written and spoken).
– Perseverance and motivation for experimental work.
– Ability to work effectively in an international team environment.
Desirable Skills
– Experience with cleanroom processing.
– Experience in electrical characterization of ferroelectric materials.
