Job Description:

Our client, Circunomics GmbH, based in Mainz, Germany, is seeking a highly experienced Backend Developer to join their team remotely within Germany. The role involves designing and operating container-based applications, architecting and deploying AWS cloud solutions, and owning the full lifecycle of features.

Responsibilities include:

1. Assessing the efficiency and performance of current applications.
2. Collaborating closely with frontend teams in an agile environment.
3. Conducting thorough code reviews to maintain quality standards.
4. Writing self-documented, understandable technical solutions.
5. Analyzing business requirements and creating technical specifications.
6. Troubleshooting and debugging applications.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Proficiency in PHP or Python (preferred both).
• Understanding of message-based systems, RESTful API design, microservice architectures, and distributed systems.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and schema design.
• Familiarity with Docker, containerization, and cloud fundamentals.
• Ability to write effective tests and maintain clean, understandable code.

Bonus points:

• Experience with Node.js, Serverless functions, Symfony Framework, AWS Certifications, Domain-Driven Design, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
