We are seeking an experienced and motivated Imaging Specialist based in Europe, who is excited about tackling complex challenges in the medical sector using machine learning. As an Imaging Specialist at AICURA, you will be tasked with developing advanced imaging pipelines tailored to the neuroimaging domain, using both cutting-edge deep learning technologies and established algorithms. Your role will involve the creation of robust, scalable solutions that integrate seamlessly with our AI platform, enhancing our ability to analyze and interpret medical imaging data effectively. This position requires strong expertise in neuroimaging, with a primary focus on PET and a secondary familiarity with MRI being a plus. Proficiency with neuroimaging software tools such as ANTsX, FreeSurfer, FSL, and SPM is expected, along with solid experience handling imaging data formats like DICOM and NIFTI.

Your responsibilities

• Develop robust, scalable pipelines for imaging data preprocessing, normalization, and harmonization using both traditional and deep learning-based techniques
• Ensure data quality and reproducibility by establishing standardized workflows with widely used neuroimaging tools (e.g., ANTsX, FreeSurfer, FSL, SPM)
• Work as part of a dedicated team of imaging specialists, contributing expertise and sharing knowledge to strengthen our neuroimaging capabilities
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the company—including deep learning engineers, data scientists, clinical researchers, and software engineers—to design and implement advanced imaging pipelines
• Provide regular insights on imaging pipeline performance and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of analysis strategies
• Stay current with advances in neuroimaging methodologies and proactively identify opportunities to integrate new techniques or tools

Your profile

Must have:

• MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physicsor similar/higherdegreewith at least 3 years of industry experience
• Professional experience with Unix/Linux operating systems
• Professional experience in Neuroimaging and Neuroimaging software, such as ANTsX, FreeSurfer, FSL, SPM
• Professional experience with imaging data formats, including DICOM and NIFTI
• Professional experience with deep learning in medical imaging in particular PET and MR
• Strong skills in math/statistics
• Strong visualization skills
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Experience with tools used in the software lifecycle i.e. CI/CD and git
• Full professional proficiencyin English

Nice to have:

• Professional proficiencyin German
• Experience with other programming languages and visualization tools, such as Mathematica, Matlab, Mojo
• Previous work experience in a startup or in a highly flexible work environment
