Job Overview

We're looking for a Ground Station Operations Engineer to strengthen our team onsite at EUMETSAT, providing top-notch services.

The successful candidate will be a member of a team responsible for the evolution, operations preparation, and commissioning of operational ground stations for all EUMETSAT GEO and LEO missions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide routine operations services for the operational ground stations for EUMETSAT GEO and LEO missions, including:

• Conduct and coordinate routine and special operations
• Monitor performance and quality of ground stations, report and investigate anomalies, participate in their correction, and propose evolutions
• Create and maintain schedules
• Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of documentation for routine, non-routine, and contingency operations, including procedures, working practices, and user guides, following EUMETSAT document management and configuration control processes
• Maintain statistics databases and monitoring systems
• Contribute to the definition of evolutions, including requirements specifications and further development
• Evaluate technical requirements and assess their compliance with ground segment requirements
• Participate in operational validation of upgrades and compile relevant reports
• Contribute to validation activities of ground station evolutions
• Define and implement procedures and tools for ground station monitoring in coordination with TSS department
• Identify system deficiencies, operational risks, and suggest resolutions during reviews
• Support workshops with ground station expertise
• Manage configuration items validation and Operational Scenario Validation (OSV)
• Assist in defining operations concepts, preparations, and commissioning activities
• Support integration, verification, and validation test campaigns
• Develop transition plans and generate operational documentation

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with operations preparation and routine operations of GEO and/or LEO satellite systems
• Experience in document management and configuration control
• Experience in development and upgrades within a 24/7 operations environment
• Experience in designing user interfaces for operations (HMI, reports, etc.)
• Experience with Space Link Extension (SLE) configuration and/or use
