As the world leader in the production of innovative medicines, we at Boehringer Ingelheim offer you the opportunity to get to know the many tasks of the Custom Data Center Solutions team. You accompany us in optimizing our digital backbone and take responsibility for conducting a comprehensive study, developing a framework for server energy efficiency.

You will gain insight into the following topics and areas of activities:

1. Conducting literature reviews on server energy efficiency calculation and rating methodologies
2. Analyzing energy consumption in the Data Center at Boehringer Ingelheim
3. Developing proposals for calculating, measuring, and enhancing server energy efficiency for our Data Centers

Your Profile:

1. Student in Computer Science, Information Technology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
2. Knowledge of analysis tools and methodologies, with a focus on server performance and energy consumption optimization
3. Hands-on experience with independent research and problem-solving
4. Dedicated and team-oriented way of working as well as a high willingness to learn
5. Fluency in spoken and written English

What we can offer you:

1. You will be given 2.5 days of paid time off for every full month of the internship
2. A full-time internship is 37.5 hours a week (a smaller number of hours can be arranged)
3. During your final thesis, you will receive an allowance of 900€ per month

The duration of the internship is 3-6 months. The start of the internship can be made several times a year. The earliest start date is currently in May 2025. Please enter the desired period in your application.
