Payments

Payments is a core product for Cash Management and a key growth area for Deutsche Bank. To support our growth ambitions and maintain a leadership position in the competitive payments market, we are investing significantly in our payment infrastructure. These changes must adapt to market dynamics, evolving client demands, and increasing competition, while addressing the Bank’s infrastructure complexity. The foundation of this investment is a target state architecture for the end-to-end payment process.

As a Lead Business Functional Analyst (f/m/x), you will work closely with business and technical leads and stakeholders to ensure alignment with client needs early in the demand shaping process. You will facilitate and coordinate business, market, and audit requirement analyses. You will prepare solution designs considering Payments domain architectural principles and create clear end-to-end process flows for business-critical solutions.

Your key responsibilities

• Clarify and assess business, regulatory, audit, and market requirements with Business stakeholders.
• Prepare solution designs for complex business requirements involving multiple applications in the processing chain, creating clear end-to-end payment process flows.
• Develop Functional Specifications collaboratively with Business Analysts, Application Owners, and Solution Architects, ensuring alignment with business needs and architecture guidelines.
• Take full ownership of delivered functionality from start to finish.
• Coordinate end-to-end testing, including preparing test plans, cases, data, and reviewing interface testing between applications. Work with developers to resolve major issues during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Continuously improve internal requirements analysis processes and drive automation of documentation.

Your skills and experiences

• Several years of experience as a lead business analyst, functional analyst, or system analyst.
• Working knowledge of Global Payments processing, related systems, and flows (including SWIFT workflows is preferable).
• Ability to produce Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and detailed functional/technical specifications (SRS, FRDs).
• Intermediate to advanced SQL skills and logical data modeling.
• Understanding of industry formats such as XML and JSON.
• Knowledge of UML or similar notation, and basic understanding of Java/Kotlin to read code.
