Procurement Engineer

Our SCM team is responsible for the procurement and logistical coordination of all components and services in the segments of large-scale energy storage, power-to-gas (P2G) and off-grid projects. The team works closely with project managers, engineers, export and commercial admins to ensure the smooth execution of projects, directly contributing to cost, time, and quality optimization for the organization.

Your contribution to the big picture

• In your new role you will lead the procurement of contractors and sub-epc companies as well as related services for our Energy Storage and Power to Gas projects in Europe
• Your key responsibility is developing sourcing strategies for subcontracted services (e.g. civil and electromechanical works, technical consultants, O&M companies, asset management firms, etc.) for our projects during the planning, construction and operational stages
• You prepare tender documentation by driving internally with the technical team and externally with consultants the elaboration of RfP documentation (for example BoQ, functional specifications, schematics, layouts, calculations) and finalize such documents using your technical expertise and practical knowledge.
• You create value by making in-depth comparison and analysis of technical and commercial proposals, and are able to value-engineer such proposals to the right level.
• Contracts at the commercial and the legal side will be negotiated by yourself with support of the legal team
• You develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure long-term and cost-effective supply of services.

Required skills

• A motivating team player with multidisciplinary expertise, who is structured with excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels
• Analytical mindset, exceptional coordination and collaboration skills, commercial understanding, proven technical competencies and strong cross-functional leadership skills
• Degree in civil or mechanical engineering and extensive experience from project procurement functions, in infrastructure and / or O&M project business
• Deep understanding and professional experience with contracts for services, especially in development areas, you are an excellent negotiator and have a strong sense for customer-orientation
• Thriving in a multi-cultural environment and familiar with working in large and remote organizations
• Excellent English and German language skills as well as a willingness to travel when it is required (20%) round off your profile
