Your Role – meaningful & rewarding
- Act as a key contact and thought partner for the leadership team, while mentoring team members and fostering a culture of learning and growth
- Drive the success of Data & AI projects by shaping the architecture, estimating efforts, and aligning the right engineers to the right initiatives
- Lead projects hands-on, ensuring technical excellence, agile execution, and fast delivery of scalable, reusable data products
- Introduce and maintain architectural best practices, templates, and components that accelerate development and improve system quality
- Own technical assessments and interviews as part of the hiring process
- Keep an eye on the horizon - stay informed on the latest trends, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide the team with innovative thinking
Your Profile – authentic & open-minded
- Several years of experience in data engineering or architecture, ideally in a lead role, backed by a degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks like Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates
- Solid experience in building ETL pipelines with tools like Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Fabric
- Proficiency in CI/CD, DevOps practices, and deploying reliable, tested, automated data solutions
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, familiarity with ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Azure ML is a plus
- You’re comfortable with containerization and modern software deployment practices like CI/CD, monitoring, automation and testing.
- Outstanding communication skills in both English and German, with the ability to tailor your message to technical and non-technical audiences
- Industry experience in the energy sector is an advantage
