Project Engineer (m/f/d) – Energy from Waste & Carbon Capture

Your new role
As our new project Engineer, you will be part of our Waste to Energy (WtE) team in Hamburg. You will participate in conceptual design, tendering and implementation of new large WtE facilities, revamping or optimization of existing WtE plant with e.g. flue gas condensation and additional cleaning steps as e.g. Carbon Capture.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Developing and recommending process design options at conceptual level to identify the solutions that best suit the clients’ priorities and future developments, both for waste-to-energy facilities with and without Carbon Capture.
- Performing energy- and process technical calculations on e.g. incineration plants and biogas plants, including newer technologies such as large heat pumps, gasification and carbon capture, in Excel, Ebsilon, Thermoflex and other tools.
- Devising energy concepts for projects, including technical descriptions, process diagrams, expected energy efficiency, etc. in dialogue with customers and colleagues.
- Contributing to tender documents, evaluation of tenders and review of suppliers' retail design.
- Contributing to our competence team of experts, which focus on knowledge sharing, learning from projects, development of tools and best practice.
- Determining optimization potentials and solve energy technical problems.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, (thermal energy, process, mechanical or a related field).
- Proven track record (3+ years) of working experience from the thermal energy sectors. Experience within energy from waste and carbon capture is considered an advantage.
- Professional working experience and interest in modelling of thermal energy processes and/or flue gas treatment.
- You have a go-getter attitude and good at quickly and efficiently completing your tasks.
- Excellent spoken and written English and German.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
- Interested in travelling to meetings and projects in Scandinavia and abroad.
