Based in Hamburg, we are responsible for planning and managing the regular services from Europe to North America and Asia, as well as their marketing in Europe.
To support our dynamic and multinational team in Hamburg, we are looking for a new Team Member (m/f/d) Vessel Operations.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue voyage instructions, discharging instructions, sailing information, etc.
- Update vessel schedules in our system
- Communicate with vessels, ship managing companies, and local offices to maintain scheduled voyages
- Bunkering arrangements, including confirmation of fuel specifications and review of bunker suppliers
- Prepare cargo stowage plans and provide them to concerned parties
- Issue incident reports when accidents or serious cargo damages occur, followed by necessary actions with vessel masters, ship management companies, ports, and agents
- Collect cost reports from local offices in a timely manner
- Handle environmental and technical matters related to vessels
- Negotiate with vessel owners regarding off-hire incidents and report to concerned parties upon reaching agreements
Your skills:
- Completed training, studies, or similar qualification, ideally related to shipping or logistics
- Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Familiarity with handling numerical data, calculations with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Proactive attitude to necessary actions, especially sharing critical information among parties
- Experience and ability to manage workload through effective prioritization, time management, and organizational skills
- Possession of a class B driving license
- Attitude to resolve ongoing issues, possibly with own ideas
- Computer literacy and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
