Role Overview

As our IoT Solution Architect, you will lead the end-to-end architecture of our connected product ecosystem. You’ll work closely with product managers, embedded engineers, cloud teams, and customers to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing IoT solutions—from concept to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and lead the architecture of scalable and secure IoT solutions
• Define system requirements, device-cloud communication protocols, data flows, and edge-to-cloud architectures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align hardware, firmware, cloud, and application layers
• Ensure high availability, data integrity, and low-latency communication across IoT devices and cloud platforms
• Evaluate new technologies and frameworks to improve system performance
• Lead solution integration with third-party platforms and services (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, MQTT, etc.)
• Mentor developers and review technical designs and implementation plans
• Translate business needs into technical specifications

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in designing and deploying IoT solutions (ideally in B2C or industrial settings)
• Strong understanding of IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP, BLE, etc.) and security practices
• Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and IoT services
• Proficient in system design, REST APIs, microservices, and embedded software integration
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Experience working with both hardware and cloud/infrastructure teams
• Fluent in English and German

Nice to Have

• Experience in smart home, energy management, or industrial IoT
• Familiarity with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Background in data analytics or machine learning for IoT
• Open-source contributions or experience in startup environments
