Cost Engineer - Biologics - Stuttgart - 3-Year Contract

Quanta is supporting a significant capital investment project in Stuttgart. This global biologics client is currently expanding their capital projects team and requires a Cost Engineer with experience in Greenfield or Brownfield facility construction to support their new venture. We are interested in speaking with senior consultants seeking a long-term assignment.

The Cost Engineer will oversee all commercial activities on the project, providing guidance and direction to project partners. The role involves direct management of commercial activities with various parties to ensure proper commercial governance across all project aspects.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, responsibilities include:

  1. Reviewing design changes and their impact on installation quantities, including vendor changes and field impacts.
  2. Maintaining commercial oversight of subcontractor packages managed by the Construction Manager, including review of re-measures.
  3. Identifying potential issues or claims from third parties early and participating in mitigation efforts.
  4. Compiling project data to meet client requirements.
  5. Generating cost reports for project managers concerning works contractors.
  6. Reviewing budgets and quotations to ensure value for money.
  7. Attending weekly contractor meetings across various projects.
  8. Developing collaborative relationships with line managers and team members through open communication.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  1. A B.Sc. or B.Eng. degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Studies, Engineering, or relevant experience.
  2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects of complex technical nature.
  3. Experience supporting capital projects in the pharma or biotech sectors.
