At Sandvik Coromant's design offices, we develop solutions to support orders for special or engineered products using the latest design methods and processes. We are seeking a Special Insert Designer for our Customized Solution Design Hub in Düsseldorf, Germany. This role focuses on Special Insert Solutions and offers an opportunity for someone eager to contribute actively to our customers' success.

The main responsibilities include handling quotation and manufacturing design requests for special products primarily related to inserts in area turning, milling, drilling, broaching, threading, and some special profiles. Your mission is to ensure customer demands are met through the development of cost-effective, innovative, and customized solutions. You will select appropriate design tools, methods, and approaches according to established procedures, develop concepts for function- and production-oriented special inserts compliant with the latest technical findings, sales, and execution guidelines, and independently work on projects creating design documents such as 3D models and drawings to solve customer-specific machining problems.

You will manage your work processes concerning technical drawing elaboration and deadlines, support colleagues professionally in a global environment, and maintain close communication with your manager. Your experience will enable you to identify potential issues and propose suitable solutions.

Your character

We seek someone with a solid background as a technical draftsman or product designer, further training as a technician or mechanical engineer specializing in design, and several years of design experience within the metal cutting industry. Knowledge of relevant product applications, market awareness, and understanding of metal cutting processes and tool applications are essential. Extensive CAD designing experience, preferably with Siemens NX, basic knowledge of CAM programming, and SAP familiarity are advantageous.

Excellent business and technical communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are required. We value a flexible, creative working style, teamwork, problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and commitment to quality, customer service, and innovative solutions.
