Expert Business Developer (f/m/d) Natural Gas and Hydrogen Market

This position can be filled at our EEX locations in Leipzig or Paris.

EEX offers natural gas contracts across Europe, including spot, futures, and options contracts for major European gas hubs, as well as trading in location spread products between market areas. In this role, you will actively contribute to shaping the European and global energy landscape. You will lead business initiatives from inception to successful delivery, managing projects from start to finish.

This role requires intensive stakeholder management, detailed project and budget planning, and the ability to develop implementation blueprints. You will establish, maintain, and expand relationships with internal teams and external clients and partners, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.

You understand the differences between leadership and management, communicate effectively across hierarchy levels, and are sensitive to intercultural communication aspects. Your proven track record in leading projects in international, fast-paced environments will support your success. You will collaborate with various internal departments to expand our natural gas business and support hydrogen offerings.

We seek a well-rounded business developer comfortable with project administration, conceptual discussions, stakeholder dialogue, and translating between internal and external parties, with a focus on delivering our roadmap.

The EEX business development team is highly international, both in location and nationality. While we follow a digital-first strategy, occasional travel within Europe is expected.

You bring:

• A Master’s degree in a relevant field
• At least 10 years of experience in business development or project management within energy markets
• Experience in top-tier management consultancy firms is a strong plus
• Strong leadership, communication skills, reliability, and a proactive attitude
• High proficiency in English; French and German are advantageous
