HSBC Germany is part of the HSBC Group, one of the world's leading international banks.

At HSBC, our purpose is opening up a world of opportunity. When you join our team, you become part of something bigger. We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring careers at HSBC are inclusive and accessible. We connect colleagues from around the world and enable you to play an active role in shaping the future.

We are looking for employees with personality—individuals who stand up for our common goals, support one another, and find convincing solutions for our customers. If you want to combine seemingly incompatible qualities at your next employer, we warmly welcome you to HSBC.

Being part of HSBC in Düsseldorf, you will help evolve and grow our business as a Trainee Traded Risk Management (m/w/d).

Do you have a master's degree in a non-banking profession? Do you enjoy learning new skills and thinking outside the box? If yes, we want to hear from you!

In this role, you will:

  • Work in a high-paced environment with regular interaction with traders and risk managers across three European locations, including Paris and London.
  • Learn on the job the fundamentals of market risk management, macroeconomics, and the influence of political events on markets.
  • Gain insight into the market infrastructure of a bank's trading floor and its interfaces with entities like clearing houses and financial intermediaries.

You should apply if you have:

  • A master's degree in a non-banking field, such as history, politics, or theology.
  • Exceptional focus and a strong ability to learn quickly.
  • Fluency in English and skills in French are a plus.
  • An excellent memory.
  • Strong mathematical skills and curiosity to learn more.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel regularly between Paris and Düsseldorf, if required.

Even if you do not meet 100% of the qualifications, we encourage you to apply if you believe this role is suitable for you.

What you’ll get in return:

HSBC offers a range of exciting opportunities and benefits, including:

  • Work-life balance: Flexible working options such as flextime, home office, and part-time work.
  • Family friendliness: Childcare options in our nursery schools and other supportive measures.
  • Development: Continuous personal development through HSBC My Career and HSBC University, with tools for career planning.
  • Perks and Financial Security: Company ticket, bike, subsidized canteen, IT leasing, discounts, employer-funded pension, insurance, 30 days of vacation, and additional holidays during Christmas and New Year.
  • Health: Medical check-ups, sabbaticals, lifetime working time account, family services, sports groups, and mindfulness sessions.
  • Internationality: Opportunities to work internationally across HSBC offices worldwide.
  • Connecting with colleagues: Join Employee Resource Groups with shared interests and characteristics.
