CGI is a European leader in Space Ground Segment systems and services, operating in Earth Observation, Navigation, Satellite Communications, Space Safety, and Mission Operations. We provide critical services and solutions to European and national agencies, scientific communities, the commercial sector, and the wider public. As a major contributor and thought leader in European space initiatives like Copernicus and Galileo, we design and develop cutting-edge solutions for our clients.

The European Space market is dynamic, evolving, and rapidly growing. Building on over 40 years of successful heritage, CGI aims to expand further in this area. We are seeking a Project Manager (m/f/d) to support this growth.

As a Project Manager, you will gain insights into our ground segment services, infrastructure, and software business, working directly with clients in the Space domain. You will have end-to-end responsibility for one or more projects, managing client relationships, project teams, schedules, scope, costs, risks, changes, suppliers, and procurement. Outstanding communication skills and stakeholder management are essential. Regular monitoring and reporting to clients and internal management are key responsibilities.

Your future duties include:

  1. Ensuring project deliverables are provided on time, within scope, budget, and quality expectations.
  2. Developing and managing integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation strategies.
  3. Engaging with clients to identify needs, opportunities, and lead change initiatives.
  4. Leading project teams through empowerment and clear communication.
  5. Managing project risks and opportunities effectively.
  6. Maintaining stakeholder relationships with customers and partners.
  7. Supporting contract negotiations and managing scope changes and claims.
  8. Communicating project progress and status to all stakeholders.

We provide extensive support and training to equip you with the necessary project management tools.

Required qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of managing end-to-end IT infrastructure and software projects, ideally in the space domain.
  • Ability to work closely with technical teams and translate concepts into schedules and costs, considering risks.
  • Experience in managing project contracts and frameworks, including Agile.
  • Project Management Certification (PMI, IPMA, or similar).
  • Knowledge of space mission systems engineering (e.g., ECSS) or MBSE is a plus.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Networked thinking, planning, assertiveness, resilience, and an open mindset.
  • Proven ability to deliver solutions under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Technical affinity is advantageous.
  • Fluency in German and English, spoken and written.

What we offer includes a flexible, international work environment, diverse teams, flat hierarchies, and open communication. We emphasize our commitment to partnership, integrity, quality, and social responsibility, aiming to be carbon neutral by 2030. Additional benefits include employee share options, flexible working hours, holidays, parental leave, company car and bicycle leasing, public transport passes, discounts, ongoing learning opportunities, and a vibrant corporate culture.
