About this opportunity

A vacancy has arisen within our Accounting Team for a Financial Accountant, based in our Beverage plant at Saarlouis in Germany. You will be responsible for the correct and timely handling of all financial, accounting and administrative matters for the plant.This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, ambitious individual who possesses a pro-active approach to gain experience in a multinational organisation.

Your mission in Crown:

Main Responsibilities

• Participation in preparation of reporting and closing of monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring timely, accurate month-end closing and financial reporting, including accruals.
• Coordinate and liaise with internal parties (ie SSC) to support intercompany activities
• Responsible for accounting processes and tasks (i.e: AP, GL, account reconciliation, etc.)
• Petty cash accounting.
• Support and ensure compliance with all finance filing requirements, tax filing requirement, VAT declaration, Intrastat, internal and external audits, procedures and forms (ie Sox Controls)
• Fixed Assets management and reconciliation (CPEX, down payments, etc)

Accounts Payable duties and responsibilities

• Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
• Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
• Maintaining historical records
• Responding to supplier enquiries for accounting and administration finance matters
• Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
• Continuous Improvement of accounting processes
• Coordinatingand liaisingwith external parties like external auditors, tax agents, corporate agents, local tax and government authorities where required
• Assisting in new finance processes and system implementation when required

About you:
The successful candidate has successfully completed certification as an Accountant (ACA/CIMA, etc) or with accounting/Business/Economics degree, with 3-5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in an international manufacturing environment. You have knowledge of German accounting standards, German tax balance sheet experience is a plus, as a knowledge of USGAAP an advantage. With Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, you have acquired a working experience of SAP 4/HANA. A team player, with strong administration, planning and organization skills, you possess good communication skills and you are able to work work to tight timescales. You are detailed oriented and at ease with number and data. Besides German, Advanced English is mandatory.
