The Commercial Systems unit manages several responsibilities across six engineering teams, collaborating closely with other engineering and business units. The services designed, developed, and operated by this team are central to Canonical's business, with Salesforce playing a key role.

The Salesforce team focuses on developing and configuring Canonical's Salesforce instance. Their mission is to deliver a top-tier experience to Sales and business operations teams while maintaining high engineering standards.

We seek an engineering manager with senior-level Salesforce experience who strives for excellence, seeks continuous improvement, and applies their skills effectively. This role involves leading change, leveraging the latest Salesforce features, and maintaining a lean, maintainable Salesforce instance.

Location: This role is remote within the EMEA region.

What your day will look like

  • Lead a team of engineers delivering solutions on the Salesforce platform
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes, designs, and solutions
  • Collaborate on business analysis and technical design
  • Provide Salesforce expertise to business and cross-functional teams
  • Develop and deliver Salesforce-based engineering solutions

What we are looking for in you

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with Salesforce development and integrations
  • Proven experience as a hands-on engineering manager or team lead
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to work remotely with diverse teams, remaining motivated and organized
  • Willingness to travel internationally 2-4 times per year for one-week trips (e.g., New York, London, Berlin, etc.)

Additional skills that you might also bring

  • Experience as a software developer in Go or Python
  • Background in sales, finance, or operations roles
