We are looking for an experienced Android Developer (d/f/m) to join mobile.de’s newly formed Native apps team in the Qualifiy, Communicate & Transact clusterin Berlin.
You will work in a passionate team that's on a mission to create a high-quality consumer communication and transaction journeys for our car buyers and sellers on the iOS platform. You will report to an Engineering Manager, along with other iOS and Android engineers in this product team.

This is a hybrid role, and our office is in Berlin Charlottenburg.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the development of Android applications using Kotlin following best practices and coding standards.

  • Collaborate with the product manager and UX/UI designer to create scalable application architectures.

  • Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards.

  • Implement unit tests and automated testing strategies to verify the applications' correctness and reliability.

  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and other issues to enhance the performance of the Android applications.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, Android platform updates, and technologies. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the development processes and application performance.

  • Collaborate with other Android engineers, backend developers, designers, and product managers to define project requirements, milestones, and timelines.

  • Follow security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations throughout development.

Who you are:

  • Experience as an Android Developer with at least 2 years of experience developing high-traffic Android applications.

  • Proficiency in Kotlin or Java for Android app development.

  • Experience with Android application architecture patterns and design principles.

  • Experience with Android development tools, libraries, and third-party APIs.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

  • Good to have: Experience mentoring junior developers and leading technical projects.

  • Portfolio of published Android applications on the Google Play Store.
