What you will do at reisetopia

As our Director of Engineering, you will be part of our Management Team and will build, develop, and manage a top-notch engineering team capable of tackling development projects, building scalable infrastructure, and fixing bugs.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Overseeing all projects & tickets with the Lead Developer to predict and match execution timelines
• Owning product delivery by building efficient, scalable processes in collaboration with our Product Lead
• Hiring new developers, assessing current capacities, and proactively suggesting team additions within budget
• Conducting annual goal setting, feedback, and result meetings with the Lead Developer and senior staff to support their development
• Contributing to the company's strategic development as part of the management team
• Communicating with all stakeholders, including project leads, to ensure aligned priorities

Technical priorities and objectives include:

• Enhancing and expanding the suitespot hotel search
• Improving load times for reisetopia website and hotel search
• Developing and expanding financial comparison tools and new technical solutions

What qualifications we expect from you

We are looking for someone fully committed from day one, passionate about leading our team and implementing tech projects. The qualifications include:

• 7+ years of full-stack development experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Strong communication and team leadership skills
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with technologies such as:
• Modern TypeScript
• React and Redux
• Express.js
• MongoDB and MySQL
• Jest, Selenium, or Cypress
• UI/UX design
• Next.js and universal rendering
• WordPress development
• AWS Lambda
• DevOps tools like Docker, Ansible, Serverless Framework

Experience managing complex projects and implementing impactful process optimizations

Experience creating and managing scalable platforms

Start-up experience and agile team environment familiarity is a plus

Fluency in English; German skills are a bonus
