Independently drive and execute technical failure investigations on software-driven electro-mechanical systems/products to identify root causes of potential defects (NCRs). Support quality and reliability initiatives across Innovation, Engineering, R&D, manufacturing, and post-launch phases.

This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing test concepts, building test setups, executing tests, and documenting reports to understand failure mechanisms and characterize product defects. Sources of issues may include manufacturing NCRs, field complaints, development failures, or OOS situations.

Support the QE team with technical expertise, including test and investigation concept development, product risk analysis, and generating technical solutions for corrective actions. Take ownership of developing and maintaining the quality investigation lab, and write technical reports and risk assessments for customer complaints and non-conformities. Conduct technical and functional assessments of broker goods as a quality SME. Establish and improve processes related to these responsibilities.

Skills and Experience

  • Engineering degree (Bachelor or Master) with knowledge of analog and digital techniques.
  • Beneficial: Education in technical crafts such as electronics technician, Informationselektroniker, or Communication technician telecom.
  • Extensive experience in performing the described activities on similar electro-mechanical products.
  • Knowledge and experience in analyzing, designing, and testing microprocessor circuits (embedded circuits), electronic (HW/SW integrated) modules.
  • Knowledge in systematic error and cause analysis.
  • Proven ability to define problems, hypothesize causes, and perform tests to identify defect causes.
  • Experience handling standard measurement and test devices.
  • Ability to develop technical strategies for quality and technical problem investigations.
  • Knowledge of reliability methods/tools such as FTAs, FMEAs, simulation, modeling, and AI-based tools is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of physics and engineering principles, including failure and root cause analysis.
  • Good command of English (written and spoken), German is preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, team collaboration, and networking abilities.
  • Assertiveness, openness to feedback, and self-driven to handle topics independently.
